Crowns
A crown (or older version called a "cap") is a dental restoration that covers the entire tooth. They are made of either ceramic or precious metals. We can restore fractured, cracked, or leaking large fillings by placing a crown on the tooth to protect it. Current technology allows us to match the new crown to the shade of your tooth. A temporary crown is placed on the tooth, while the permanent one is being custom made in the lab. It is still vital that you practice optimal homecare to keep the crown margins free of bacteria-causing decay. Given proper care, crowns can last many years!

Bridges
A dental bridge is a solution for missing teeth. If there are teeth on either side of the space and an implant is not an option, then we may suggest a bridge. Teeth on either side of the missing tooth are prepared for crowns. A third crown is designed to fill the space vacated by the missing tooth, and is permanently attached to the crowns on both sides, thus forming a "bridge" over the space where the tooth was lost. The bridge is designed in the lab to fit your bite and match the color of surrounding teeth. If you are considering treatment to replace missing teeth, please discuss your goals with us, so we can provide you with the best options for your situation.
