Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)

Many years ago, the only treatment for a painful abcessed tooth was extraction. An abcessed tooth can be caused by decay or injury. Both of these problems can let bacteria enter the pulp (nerve chamber) of the tooth. These germs can cause an infection, sometimes resulting in a very painful abcess.

Today, root canal treatment or endodontics has given dentists a safe and painless way to save teeth. During treatment, we anesthetize the tooth and remove the diseased pulp. The pulp chamber and root canal(s) are then cleaned and sealed. Root Canal treatment has become a standard of care in saving teeth. We encourage every patient who has had a root canal to tell at least one person how easy it was!

"Candidly, the root canal procedure was not like anything I expected it to be. In short, no pain and no problems!"
