Sealants

The first step to maintaining a healthy mouth is preventing tooth decay. Sealants offer that protection. A sealant is a plastic liquid material that flows into the deep grooves of the molars. It is then hardened with a special light and now acts as a barrier, protecting the enamel from plaque and acids. Sealants hold up well with normal chewing and can last several years. They are less expensive than a filling, making them a wise preventive choice in the battle against decay.
